Werewolf Love and Moon
One starry night my eyes did see,
a sight that so enamored me.
And so I write of it to thee,
a tale of werewolf, love and moon.
I gazed upon the red stone hill,
a silhouette atop stood still,
aiming an arrow with much skill
at the blotchy, golden moon.
The silhouette then gave release
to the arrow with graceful ease,
in hopes his lover’s plight would cease;
The plight she had with the full moon.
Six months before this fateful night
Finn met a love that seemed so right.
She filled his heart with such delight
and when he saw her he did swoon.
Her skin so fair, her hair so red.
It wasn’t long before they wed,
but soon Finn’s life was filled with dread.
Dread caused by her and the full moon.
One night Finn planned such sweet romance.
He and his bride together danced,
until she paused in a deep trance
and stared in fear at the full moon.
Her skin grew fur, her teeth grew long.
Her limbs grew large and twice as strong,
and that’s when ev’rything went wrong,
because of that darned shining moon.
Each month Finn had to run and hide
from the wrath of his werewolf bride,
until her tastes for flesh subside
and the two again would be attune.
But Finn grew tired of that routine.
He wanted peace and to be seen
as something more than wolf cuisine,
so he went to hunt the full moon.
He armed himself with arrow and bow,
and headed out to meet his foe
in hopes to kill with just one blow
the enemy he called the moon.
He climbed the red stone hill with speed,
dead set on finishing his deed
to make sure he and his love were freed
of the torment from the full moon.
His arrow soared high in the sky
and smacked the moon right in the eye,
which caused it to let out a cry
and then deflate like a balloon.
Finn cheered with joy that he had won.
The pain and anger now were done
and a new life had just begun
for he, his love, and lack of moon.
But when he came back to his bride
the doctor told him she had died,
the moon had kept her soul alive
and she was killed ‘long with the moon.
Finn in the morning took his life,
with a sharp and shiny knife.
He slit his throat ending the strife
was caused to him by the full moon.
